Reminder...

There are people on the net that have nothing better to do with their time then be nasty to other people online. They post rude comments, spend hours a day talking about sites they hate so much, that they well, spend hours a day talking about them. (lame) They mock the owners and posters for their opinions and their right to free speech. They expect everyone to fit into their narrow-minded little world view or else they throw a temper tantrum.

To these people I say
grow up
.

Here's a bit of info people...the web is a HUGE place. If you don't like what I say here, or who I am, or what I do, or talk about, or what I look like, or the color of my hair, or whatever asinine thing you dwell on, go somewhere else. It's really, really easy. Honest. You just click the little "x" in the corner of your browser and *poof* the offending, big, mean and nasty site has disappeared.

I pay for this site. It's mine. That means I can use it for whatever the hell I want to. Don't like it if I'm bitching about something in my life? Oh fucking well. Go somewhere else. Think I'm stupid for expressing my thoughts? Too fucking bad, don't read them. Somewhere along the line, someone forgot this simple fact: Live and let live Don't like me, cool, fine, whatever, I don't care. This journal is NOT for you. It's for me. I'm not in it for popularity or fame or anything stupid like that. I write it because I need to write and express myself and get things out of my head sometimes. So read or don't, it doesn't matter, but don't waste my time (or yours) bitching about it.

*gets off soapbox*

The Cable Man Cometh
Fed up with $60 a month for literally nothing more than a dial tone (no long distance usage at all), we cancelled our Verizon phone service. Today, the Bright House Networks guy is coming out to set up my new Digital Phone service. (Voice over IP) I only opted for the "Unlimited Florida" plan because I really don't use nationwide long distance. With taxes, my cable bill is going up only $22.74 a month. I'm saving like FORTY DOLLARS a month. And, when you sign up for the digital phone service, they increase your cable modem from 7mb/s to 10mb/s for free. So let's see...faster net connection, forty bucks off a month, no fees for any call within the state and a cheaper per-minute long distance rate then Verizon was giving me.

Um yeah. Totally sold.

Between 2-5pm they'll be out to set it up. Sadly, I still won't have a dial tone for like seven days, but oh well. It's worth it. The only problem is that I needed to run errands today (my first free day in weeks since my stint at the temp job is done) but I'll have to be here this afternoon instead. I hope he shows up early enough I can still run out and hit the craft store. My Full Moon Swaps package has to be mailed on Monday...and I have almost nothing for it yet. October just disappeared so I'm in full panic mode right now. Normally, I'm really great about getting them done early and mailing them early. I've never mailed late in over a year. I don't want to start now. So I need to hit the store to pick up some stuff to complete the swap.

I still have some photo updates to post, so maybe I'll try to get to that later on today. Need to upload a ton of pics from my camera but I just haven't gotten around to it. I'm just excited today and the prospect of saving $40 a month. That's a LOT of money and it'll help offset the fact our rent is going to be going up $50/month as of January. I really don't want to spend as much as we are for rent these days but it'd be even more impossible to move. It's just so expensive - in the $1,500 - $2,000 range generally once you factor in truck, deposits, transfer fees, materials and related. So once again, it looks like we'll be stuck here paying what I feel is FAR too much rent. I mean, I like our apartment and I don't relish the idea of moving, but... the rent is just stupidly high and we struggle to pay it every month as it is, you know?

Alright, I'm going to wrap up for the moment. I'm still borrowing my friend Rand's Jeep this afternoon because I need to run to the post office to get out an order and pending on what time the cable guy arrives, I might have time to squeeze in a trip to the store. Better to have the option then not.
