Backlog of Images
Well, I gave up and downloaded a trial of PSP Pro 9 just so I could work on resizing the photos. I know I'm the only person on the planet, but I despise and loathe PhotoShop with every fiber of my being and it's far too damned annoying for the very simple act of resizing, adding text, and compressing that I need to do. So anyway, for the moment, I'll just use this (though I don't really like 9 either - it wants to be Photoshop too damned much *bleck*) and I can at least show some overdue photos.

Here's nosey Mika sniffing the iPod box as I'm trying to open it

And here is the brand new iPod in it's box!

And my iPod in it's blue leather case I found on ebay for $12.99. Not too shabby. Especially since I couldn't find any cheaper then $30 elsewhere.

And beyond the iPod photos....

This is the Goddess mold soap and two floater candles which were part of the amazing package from Lorena! How cool, right?

And of course, I'm not the only one who likes my big, new, bathtub. Clearly, Mika likes it as well. Hee hee. Silly kitty.

Every now and then, very rarely, Mika tolerates Gracie and you get a cute shot like this one.

And speaking of Gracie, she hasn't gotten a lot of photos, so here's one just of her.

So...not a lot of text, but a lot of overdue photos. Don't know what we're doing today, but I'm sure it will require me getting dressed, so I'm off. PJ's may be comfy, but they're not really outside-the-apartment attire.

Drive-By Grump
My stomach hates me. And has made a point to remind me just how much it hates me the last two weeks straight. I'll spare you the TMI of more details.

Ugh.

Damn Phone Calls
There's nothing worse then being...indisposed in the rest room and having the phone ring SIX TIMES IN A ROW all from the same number and all letting it ring four times, hanging up when the answering machine clicks on and then calling immediately back. Fuck off 707-584-3840 "Transworld System!" Stop fucking harassing me. I don't know you and you sure as hell ain't got no right to spam call me!

Assholes.

Clean Laundry Underway
Yeah, so today I am over at my friend Rand's house, once again making use of his washer and dryer. Thankfully, no migraine so far today and the one from yesterday morning went away and hasn't returned. Hopefully, it was just a hormone thing or something and I can get back to not having them. A week and change of them plauging me everyday is more then enough.

The lovely Lorena sent a fabulous package of handmade soaps, bath salts and floater candles yesterday. Were I not here, I'd be trying them out right now. They smell so lovely - a Fruit and Nut scent as well as an Applemint scent. I can't wait to try them. I'll be sending her a few items in return (us crafty types always tend to appreciate the barter system because I love people getting my crafts and I love seeing the crafts of another!) including some penguins and perhaps some surprises as well. :) She made a lovely Goddess mold soap for me which is very cool so that I almost don't want to use it! But it all smells too nice not to, so I can't wait to try it all out. (And doing the laundry today means I'll have a clean towel to use when I do take a bath with it! Heh.) So, just a public thanks for the wonderful care package and a reminder that a return package will show up one of these days all sneaky like when you least expect it!

I still can't find any of my photo editing software, but a friend suggested I download GIMP which is a free, open-source image program. Anyone used it? Anyone have any thoughts on how well it works? Or any problems with XP? I'm so nervous right now since my new OS has been running psychotically stable that any moment now, it's going to realize that it doesn't normally run this well and take a header. Heh. So I'm being careful about what I install.

Anyway, beyond that, I still need to get a usb 2.0 port for my iPod. I've been able to transfer some songs over - a couple hundred megs worth - but I get an error at some point and I don't dare risk trying to sync up all 4 gigs of mp3's I have on my drive to the iPod yet. I only have the standard 1.1 usb port and windows yells at me everytime I try to sync it with iTunes and I get some transfered (oy, it takes awhile on 1.1) before I get an error. I'm sure there's a time out or something similar which is part of the problem. So, at the moment, I think I have like 80 songs on it. Just enough to see that it's pretty darned cool and I'd love to get it all onto there. Of course, I thought it'd read more like an external harddrive and I could even remove the files from my hd to free up space (not that I need it really now with 35 empty gigs on the new primary drive!) but, no, you need the iTunes software (which comes with it) and what you add to that library automatically mirrors onto your iPod. So if you remove a song from the iTunes on the HD side, it removes it from the iPod as well. It's smart and cool in some ways and annoying and limiting in others. I think it'll just take getting used to managing it locally on the pc so that it's how I want it to be on the iPod itself. Oh, and speaking of iPods, I found what I hope is a decent case on ebay for $12.99. Hopefully, it'll work since there's just no damned way I'm going to spend $29-40 on a case. Sheesh.

Well, I'm really just babbling since there isn't a lot going on and therefore, isn't a lot to chat about. Just trying to keep updating out of habit so that eventually, if anything interesting ever does happen, you know, I'll be all ready to update. Ha.

No Laundry For Me
Well, between my friend Rand being slammed busy at work today and me waking up at 6:30am this morning with a horrible migraine (again), we've postponed laundry day until tomorrow. I really need a w/d of my own though, damn. For a month now, we've been getting by on the kindness of my friend and the close proximity of his house to our apartment, but it's terrible having to have him come and pick me up during the day so I can bring loads of dirty clothes to his house, to use his water and his electricity. *sighs* I just don't have hundreds of dollars for a w/d set and there's no facilities on property. Add to that the lack of car - only have the one and it's so barely running that I fear everyday it won't make it to my Love's work - and my options are sorely limited. It's what is also putting such a kink into me getting a job. Can't get a job if I can't get to a job, you know?

Anyway, blah. Saturday and Sunday the migraines went away, but this morning, it was back in full force. Actually, it started last night, so I went to bed early (for me) in hopes of nipping it in the bud. Apparently not. I don't know what to do about them and I have no idea why they've been so bad again lately. I just know that taking excedrin every day and it not helping really isn't how I want to spend my life.

I desperately need to do laundry though, so another migraine tomorrow or not, it has to be done. We have no clean towels, no clean underware, no clean shorts, no clean pants, etc. Everything for both of us is dirty. And it sucks. If we had our own w/d, it wouldn't get this bad. I used to do a load here and there during the day during the week as needed. Things never piled up. Now I have like five loads of laundry to do simply because it's every week and a half or so that I get to do it and it adds up.

Bah and double bah. So frustrated at everything. Why does it all have to be so damned hard and why can't we ever catch up?

It's Incredible!
Sorry. Had to. So yeah, obviously I saw The Incredibles Saturday. And it was... (wait for it)....really good. (You thought I'd throw another gag in there like "the Incredibles was incredible!" right? Well, no. I'm not going to stoop that low.) I did enjoy it though. Very funny.

Sadly, I didn't win the $32 million jackpot in the FL Lottery last night, but then again, neither did anyone else. Maybe it just needed to roll over one more time and I'll win $40 million instead. Yeah, that's it.

Still can not find any of my photo software (PaintShop, Photoshop) so I have a camera full of pics I can't do anything with. Bah. Also can't find my WS_FTP Pro so no ftp software. (That at least, I can overcome with other options though it's easier managing the multiple domains and logins with the software.)

Mika's laying on my lap nipping at my wrist when I stop petting her to type instead. Silly tabby. She and Gracie have been getting along better which is good. Though Mika's taken to sleeping for hours - all days and all evenings many times - in the lining of the boxspring. *grumble* It tore during the move and now she's always up in there.

Went looking today for a case for my iPod - the back already got scratched up in my purse dammit! - not realizing how hard of a task this would be. I found this one on the apple store website and I though, ok, no biggie. It's $29 because you're buying it from apple. You can find cheaper in the stores. Nope. Nada. I found ONE for my model (apparently there have been several "generations" of iPods and each one requires a different case design - mine is "4th generation") at Best Buy and it was a whopping $34.99! Daaaaamn. Apparently, you have to be not only rich to buy an iPod, but to buy accesories for it! *sighs* We hit several stores with no luck. One or two for iPod mini and one for the old, 20gig style without the click wheel, and only the one $35 for mine. Eep.

Well, I've been working on this on and off for an hour and Love's trying to go to sleep, so I'm going to close it. Tomorrow I'm off to do laundry so I'll be away from the pc all day. I'm sure there was more I wanted to ramble about but damned if I rembember it at this point.

Ciao.
