Happy Valentine's Day to all!

I'm out until Sunday. Should my site poof while I'm gone, don't worry about it, it'll be back soon enough. Hope everyone has a lovely day.

Do you ever find yourself reading a book and notice that it's language carries over into your own speech and writing? I'm reading a rather formally written book at the moment and find myself using archaic phrasings in my IM conversation. How silly is that?

On site news, my email is still shoddy. Things sent during the downtime are pretty much all lost. A few items have trickled in from a few servers who must have re-tried to send the messages, but that's a bare few. Messages sent even after my return don't seem to be making it with any regularity or accuracy, so don't count on it having reached me. Odds are it's not.

My host IS moving servers so there's some more transition time, though they're promising it will be smooth. Pending DNS issues - and of course, any technical errors in the swap - I might still be down for a period of time. Fear not, I shall return eventually.

Nose is still driving me bonkers. I'm feeling better though someone forgot to tell my nose that they were closing up shop. More Benedryl today in an effort to gain a few hours respite and some breathing time uninterrupted by sneezing and running.

A tangent...why is it that emails such as "view photos of singles in you area" or "drunken soccer moms for hire" get through and yet emails from people I'd actually read don't? *sighs*

My Love sold a drawing today. Things, though still bleak on the finances meter for another week, might not be so bad afterall for tomorrow. No gifts for each other and no gift have I for his birthday (<- see? that's what I mean about writing style!) but we might have enough for gas for a trip - just the two of us - to Disney for the day. Which would be nice. Though it is scheduled to rain in the later day/early evening. Oh well. Umbrellas are good for snuggling. ;)

Another tangent... Why is it that I only get hiccups when I've drunk my last sip of a beverage? It's like that last sip is what gives me the hiccups out of some unknown spite!

Yeah I'm a bit flighty right now in thoughts. Perhaps it the whole not having eaten yet paired with the cold medicine hitting my system. OooOOooOOoh. Feeling a bit woozy suddenly. This might be the cue to exit, stage right. Ta for now everyone.

Quick update...

My webhost (Drak.net) servers (Voxel.net) were down for almost 24 hours. (Boo Hiss) This is why if you tried to come here you got nothing. And if you emailed me after about 9pm EST last night, it didn't make it and is most likely lost.

There's discussion on possibly moving to another company (Alabanza.com) though it's not set in stone yet. Better uptime promises, larger staff, etc. but higher cost. It's being debated.

IF the move goes through (in the next couple day), I'd be MIA for at least some, if not all, of that period.

If the move does NOT go through, I may be looking for a new host becaues I just don't trust Voxel.net at this point. There have been problems for months now.

Bah.

Still getting over my cold. Happening slower then I'd like it to go. Still grumpy. Not much more to say.

The cold receeds slowly... Monday was the Day Of the Burning Throat - my throat was so sore I couldn't speak and it burned and ached like it had been scaled. Tuesday was the Day of the Running/Sneezing Nose - I couldn't stop sneezing and my nose ran and ran and ran....my throat went from fire to scratchy wool. But I did regain the use of my voice. Today, Wednesday, is the Day of the Clogged Ears and Dry Cough - from blowing my nose so much, my ears have gotten all out of whack. They clog up out of nowhere but then sometimes clog up when I blow my nose. It always happens and is one of the more annoying aspects of a cold for me. In addition, I've got a dry cough today; no fire and no wool, but it's dried out. My nose has slowed it's running and I can go two minutes between blowing it. (Which is good because it's also the Day of The Red Upper Lip whereby my nose and right under it is red, sore and cracked from yesterday's outpouring.) Everything is drying up now, my throat, my lips, my nose isn't so bad, but it's still not that fun of a day. I feel better but certainly not hale.

I did sleep last night thanks to some Benadryl which, despite being listed as "allergy" medication worked great on my sneezing/runny nose problem. In fact, I only woke up a hanful of times and made a point to sleep in two hours more then I needed just to get some extra rest and hopefully speed the healing. In addition, I've been taking echinacea every day to help out the immune system.

So....that's the update. Thrilling insight to the life of one cold-stricken M, eh?

Don't mind me. I'm sick and therefore cranky. My nose won't give me any respite and though I have (mostly) the use of my voice again today, it still feels like there's scratchy fabric wadded up there. Right now, I'm being driven to the breaking point by the continual sneezing that I'm doing. You just don't know how much I utterly and completely despise, with ever fiber of my being the act of sneezing. So doing it three and four times in a row is enough to make me want to break things. I can't stand sneezing!!

My mom's harrassing me again because while we just replaced her harddrive and spent hours over at her house on Thursday of last week setting it up and getting it working (we didn't leave her place until 9pm!), she's somehow apparently broken it again. So she's calling and calling and I keep avoiding answering. I don't know what the fuck she does to her pc but I'm sick and tired of her using us as free tech support:

Grr. Yes, I'm cranky and I don't feel good and I don't really feel like dealing my mom of the ever-fucking-up-of-pc's. Woman just doesn't know what to do with it and doesn't even remotely understand it and never will. So why she's so hyper to get it back working is beyond me.

*sighs* I'm going to go. I'm just ranting and that's never fun. Besides, I think American Idol is coming on and that's my Love's new guilty pleasure.

Bah. Path issues with a hostee. Says it doesn't work and yet it publishes. Shouldn't work and yet it will; should work and yet it won't. Enough to drive a person bonkers.

Throat so sore. Hate sore throats. Love came home sick Friday, pushed through for Disney Saturday, and gave me his germs sometime between then and Sunday. Woke up this morning with a raw and yet phlemy sore throat. Bah. Cleaned the damned apartment today - despite being ill and despite my Love knowing I got sick from him, he still asked me to do it "if I had a chance" (translation: If I didn't it'd be a big fight) - and now he wants to watch a movie or something. Guess I'll go do that.

Feel like poop. I hate sore throats.

*whew* I'm beat.

Took forever, but the Animal Kingdom photos have been uploaded and added to my Disney Gallery over in the photos section. Go take a look! Some lovely photos in there.

I'm off to bed. *yawns*

Yesterday was a nice day. It was cool but warmer then I had thought during the day (brisk in the shade, but not half-bad in the sun) but it did get quite a bite once the sun went down. Thankfully, it didn't rain at all either. We hit Animal Kingdom for the first time (while light on the rides, it was actually quite beautifully well themed with really up-close animal exhibits), stopped off for some dinner at Rainforest Cafe once the park closed at 5pm, then meandered over to Epcot where we rode Spaceship Earth and Test Track (which I love!), considered having our friend Rand do Mission Space (but we were still full and I didn't think I wanted to do it on that much of a full stomach), and ended up just heading over to the World Showcase to see the Illuminations. It was a good night. I've got a TON of pics which I'll upload from my camera tonight and make a new Animal Kingdom section to my on-going Disney Gallery.

Today, it's the NHL All Star Game and we're heading over to Rand's to watch it on his high def tv. Should be pretty darned nice.

Seeing as it's 1:45 and I'm not even dressed and the game starts at 3pm, I should probably get a-movin'. So I'm out for now. I'll try to update the pics this evening because I think there's quite a few really nice ones to share.
