Reminder...

There are people on the net that have nothing better to do with their time then be nasty to other people online. They post rude comments, spend hours a day talking about sites they hate so much, that they well, spend hours a day talking about them. (lame) They mock the owners and posters for their opinions and their right to free speech. They expect everyone to fit into their narrow-minded little world view or else they throw a temper tantrum.

To these people I say grow up.

Here's a bit of info people...the web is a HUGE place. If you don't like what I say here, or who I am, or what I do, or talk about, or what I look like, or the color of my hair, or whatever asinine thing you dwell on, go somewhere else. It's really, really easy. Honest. You just click the little "x" in the corner of your browser and *poof* the offending, big, mean and nasty site has disappeared.

I pay for this site. It's mine. That means I can use it for whatever the hell I want to. Don't like it if I'm bitching about something in my life? Oh fucking well. Go somewhere else. Think I'm stupid for expressing my thoughts? Too fucking bad, don't read them. Somewhere along the line, someone forgot this simple fact: Live and let live Don't like me, cool, fine, whatever, I don't care. This journal is NOT for you. It's for me. I'm not in it for popularity or fame or anything stupid like that. I write it because I need to write and express myself and get things out of my head sometimes. So read or don't, it doesn't matter, but don't waste my time (or yours) bitching about it.

*gets off soapbox*

Bruised
It seems that only I manage to have such a huge disaster of a simple dental procedure. Wednesday was my perm crown fitting, right? What was supposed to be a really easy, really quick thing. Pop off the old, cement on the new, out the door. Ten minutes. No need to numb or get involved. But with me, I had to be numbed up, it took a long time to fit the crown and my quick ten minute visit was over an hour of work.

Wednesday and Thursday my cheek was actually swollen. Literally visably puffed. So today it's not looking swollen anymore. But Love looks at me and reaches up and turns my head to the side. Sure enough, it's actually bruised. Full-on, discolored, visably bruised. It's not super dark, but it is a pale purplish fresh bruise color.

Only me. How can such a run-of-the-mill dental procedure result in two days of swelling and now bruising? Arg. And people wonder why I was so freaked out about the whole thing. This is of course after the unusual inflamation and pain and required steriod anti-inflamatory (ontop of antibiotic and painkiller). Sheesh. And to think, I have SIX cavities that still need attending to after this. Arg indeed.

It still feels weird. It's still too sore to really eat on that side. But I think that's just because of the swelling and bruising. I'm hoping that I'll get used to it and once it settles down, it'll be ok. I really just want to be done with this whole experience. It's hurt in one way or another pretty much every day for about a month now. You know, I'm really over it.

Anyway, just couldn't believe that I'm actually showing a bruise on my cheek from all this. It just blows my mind.

Head's Up!

I wanted to put a new reminder up about this link because the last few hours, they've had some really different stuff. For a couple weeks now, I've seen a lot of similar things - nice things, but still, the same type of things listed. Today there are all kinds of new and different styles being listed. So I thought for those of you who might have looked before, you might want to check in again. Some really bold items are being listed today.

Every 15 minutes, they put up a real item. Real jewelry, real sterling, real gemstone. You only pay $5.99 shipping for it. That's it. No, it's not a scam and no it's not a lie. Fact is, it's a brilliant marketing ad and it works. It's a great opprotunity to get some pieces that you can use for gifts, for yourself, to resell - anything. Think about picking up a beautiful pendant or something now and putting it aside for mother's day. Or a birthday. I get 50 cents for any order you place through my link. It's may not be a lot, but it might add up, so I'll take the help.

Anyway, wanted to let everyone know there are a lot of new items being shown. Might be worth a second look.

A Little Sore
But the work is done.

Went in today (well, since it's after midnight, technically yesterday - Wednesday) for my permanent crown, uh..installation? Heh. Anyway, my appointment was 12:40pm and we got there right at that time. Waited (as always) until sometime after 1pm. Got in there and she tried to remove the temp but it hurt. She tried a couple different times and said they may have to numb me up. She did manage to get it off with a little more work, but as soon as the air hit it, it felt like someone stabbed me with ice picks right in the tooth. I guess the air itself can be painful if you've got sensitive teeth since once the temp cap was off, it was pretty much all open.

The next lady came in to try to clean up from under the temp cap and start fitting the perm one but she couldn't even touch me. The moment they took the gauze off (they had me bite down on some for a few minutes to see if it'd feel better), it hurt. Bad.

So, they called the Dr. in to numb me. Instead of what they did last time (apparently a "full block" where literally half of my bottom jaw was numb all the way to the front of my lip and mouth), he just came at me - repeatedly - with a really painful needle and numbed up the tooth itself. Man, that hurt. No warning, no nothing, just JAB! JAB! JAB! Owww.

Alright, so I'm numbed and now they can start the work. The second lady comes back to fit the crown. She had to work at it for a good 15-20 minutes, sanding it down, shaping it, etc. to get it to sit just right. Meanwhile, the anestheia they put in my mouth made me start shaking. I felt like I had just chugged a case of caffine or something. My jaw was even trembling as I was holding it open for her. My hands were all trembling. She said it's rare, but it can happen from the numbing agent. I said it didn't happen the last time they numbed me but she explained that it's a totally different type of anesthesia then the full block they did last time. Go me. Chalk it up to yet another really rare and weird ass side effect I get from something that everyone in the world has no problem with. (My mom is worse. She's had reactions that they didn't know where medically possible. One Dr. wanted to do a clinical research study on her but she declined.)

Ok, so fitting and fiddling. No problem though, it didn't hurt thanks to my make-me-shaky numbing. Dr came back in, cemented the puppy in place and that was about it. But the entire process took forever. I wasn't out of there until about 2:30pm. Oy. He said the type of cement they use will keep it from being cold sensitive. It bonds into the small gaps so the cold doesn't transfer to the root or something. It's specifically made for that reason. Cool. I hope it works. I've always had super cold-sensitive teeth.

The numbness wore off by about 5pm or so. And all evening it's just been a little swollen and it feels like someone hit me; like a bruise. Not bad, but certainly not comfortable. My bite feels odd. It feels too high on that side. I'm hoping that it's just because it's different and not actually too high. When she fit it, it felt great. Now it feels higher. Everyone seems to be of the thought though to give it a few days. Just learn how to settle my mouth and bite together again. (Seeing as I haven't eaten on that side in about three years.)

It looks fab though. Holy cow. My mom and Love both thought it was fantastic looking work. It's all white and tooth looking. Which sounds silly but you know, the temp didn't look like a tooth. It was white, but it was all smooth on top and weirdly jagged on the sides. This doesn't come down past where it should on the side and it's smooth on the side and has normal definition on the top - like a real tooth. And it's white. Wow. That tooth has had a silver (amalgam) filling in it since I was like seven or eight. So for about twenty years it's been a big dark blotch in my mouth. Then for over two years, it had a crack in it. Then for a month it had a peice missing. So to see this big, white, normal looking tooth is pretty cool.

Now I only have SIX cavities to deal with. *sighs* And I have some in all four sections (top left, bottom left, top right, bottom right) so it'll need to be done a section at a time. Not that I have the money for it.

But...this one's done. This was the worst by far and I so narrowly escaped needing a root canal on it. The others are bad and if I don't do something soon, I'll be facing further problems, but they're not as absolutely critical as this one was. And, it's good to get done with at least this stage. It feels like it's been such a looooong process.

Anyway, me and my bruised and slightly swollen mouth are calling it a night. But I wanted to let everyone know that while it took longer then expected and was harder then expected (and that I had to get numbed up which wasn't on the agenda originally), all-in-all, I'm doing ok.

Twenty four hours and I'll be enjoying eating everything and anything - on BOTH sides of my mouth. How cool is that?

Happy Birthday Mika!
So yes, here is the obligatory crazy cat woman who loves her cat and since she's five today and it's two years since I adopted her bear with me I'm posting photos entry.

One of her favorite places to hang out. The second bedroom window.

The oh-so-dignified way Mika loves to sleep.

One of her favorite places to hang out. (She also drinks from the tub faucet every single day.)

Mika just being utterly adorable.

I'm also working on finally getting around to a page for both Mika and Gracie. It'll be here - A Tail of Two Kitties. There are so many amusing photos to share, and this way I can have them nicely in one place.

Anyway, Happy Birthday to my tubby tabby.

Crowning Moment
Har. I'm just waiting on my mom to get here then I'm off to the dentist for my permanent crown on my troublesome tooth. Hopefully, it won't be as painful an experience as last time.

What a icky day to head to the dentist though. Cramps, tired, soreness, lingering background headache - just not the kind of day you want to get out of bed, let alone get out of bed to go to the dentist. Bleck.

Today marks two years since we adopted Mika. I decided when I adopted her to make today her birthday, so she's five today. (She was three when we adopted her.) Last week was two years since I lost Kush-ka. Two years. Wow. Seems like both longer then that and much, much shorter then that. I'll put up a right and proper Mika post later. (Not that she reads my blog, but ya know, she's my girl.)

Alright, that's about it for now. *cringes* Hopefully everything will be easy and painfree.

I'm Not The Only One Who Noticed!
So, months ago, I see the Revlon Fabulash Mascara commercial on tv. And I notice something totally weird about the actress in it. She has TWO DIFFERENT COLORED EYES! I point this out to Love. He says oh, it's probably a contact lens or something. But why would they do that? It wouldn't make a lot of sense. It definately wasn't an error because it's in multiple shots.

I google it. Nada. Nothing. Zip. No one else is mentioning it and I can't even find out who the actress is in the commerical.

Well, today I saw it again. And re-googled. And finally someone else has discovered what I discovered. Better yet, she mentions who the actress is: Kate Bosworth.

Take a look at this picture. See? (If you're curious, you can learn about the scientific explanation for this rare occurance here.)

So Love, I was right. She does have two colored eyes. No mistake. No weirdness. Just a total eye-catching (slight pun intended) bit of uniqueness that Revlon used to get people talking. Just seems it took three months for the rest of the world (as defined by google anyway) to notice.

Then you better catch it!
Remember when you were a kid how annoying that was? It wasn't funny. Ever.

Is your nose running? Then you better catch it!

It always inspired a heavy dose of eye-rolling to me. Past a groaner, it was something you heard, ad nauseum from creepy uncles and unfunny friends of the family. Each time, you had to fake smile and act like you hadn't heard it a hundred times before.

Anyway, today, my nose is running. A lot. Figuring it's probably allergies, I pop over to weather.com to check. Where I'm met with the most absurdly confusing mismatch of information.

Today's forecast says it's Low. Nice, low tree pollen. And yet...

...the history for like the last month has been High. Including yesterday!

So I find it pretty hard to believe it's just suddenly gone from High to Low. Especially since my nose is firmly saying otherwise. Stupid weather.com

With that, I better close. Before long, my nose will have run away for good. Har-dee har-har.

Smells Sweet
So, thanks to Orb, I found this great site with all these yummy fragrance oils. And there are so many I want! Like Angel Food Cake and Pineapple (which I LOVE and own an almost gone Yankee candle of this scent). They're all of like $5ish a 2oz bottle which is a good deal. But two bottles equal almost $8 in shipping. *sighs* So, I can't quite justify getting any yet. Though I really want to. Maybe I'll have to try to save up and get a few at a time to balance out the product cost to shipping cost ratio. There are so many yummy ones. Honey, Almond and Vanilla, Oatmeal, Milk and Honey, Black Raspberry, Plum, Vanilla, Pearberry - oh man, I could eat it all up!

I hate when shipping is expensive. Not that I should be buying scents, but... *whimpers* Ya know, I've been trying to find pretty much exactly this for about a year now. I didn't even get a chance to get a new oil from the Renn Faire this year. There wasn't anything that was winning me over and I didn't have a lot of time to figure out a custom mix. (It's hard because the vendor I got my vanilla caramel from last year wasn't there and the ones that were there were very low on the food/yummy/sweet scents. All yucky musks.)

On the non scent side of things, if anyone's looking for an SD memory card, Best Buy has a great sale going on through Friday. 256 meg SD card for $29 with $10 rebate and free shipping. Not too shabby! I bought mine last year for about...oh...$65 and it was a damned good deal. Of course, the price has gone down now, but still, it's normal price is $45. So, for a net of $19.99, it's worth passing along to anyone who needs one. I'd like to get one myself, but I don't think it's in the budget. (Unfortunately.)

And what would an entry be without a funny photo?

Yes, it actually says, "Do not deliver to an intoxicated person." My question? Whyever not? If they're getting it delivered at home, at least they're not out on the road driving to get more booze!

(The back story? Love had picked up a bottle of wine from the store a few weeks ago and it was bad so we wrote the company and they fed-ex'd an entirely new bottle. This "special delivery" sticker was on it. I just found it really funny.)

And...one more for good measure. (I told you I had a bunch of photos that had been sitting around on my camera forever!)

Vampire Penguin! He was a custom order. Too amusing, hu?

Love went back to work today. Sad for both of us. I've had a miserable headache all day. Then again, it's to be expected. This week is always riddled with a week-long migraine fest. Joy of being female. (And yeah, that was sarcasm.) So I spent my day laying around and getting exactly nothing accomplished. Go me.

Alright, I've really reached my babbled quota, so I'll close out for now. 'Night.

Photos
Since my cable for my camera went bad, I've had photos on my camera I couldn't upload. But yesterday, I borrowed a card reader from my friend Rand to at least get the ones that are on there off for the time being. (Of course, now the cable is back in stock, but I don't have $10 in my account to buy it. *sighs*)

Anyway, I thought I'd share two pics.

The Yes Knee. This is Love's knee last week. Right after we got home from his surgery. And you can clearly see they wanted to ensure the correct knee was operated on. To the point that they wrote "YES" on the knee itself. For some reason, this just cracked me up more then I can say. The yes wouldn't come off for days either. Which was funny as well.

The $360 2liter of soda. My friend Rand had to travel to KY last week for a couple days for his job. And while there, he found something I've been searching for months to find. Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper. The diet is nation-wide available, the regular was only limited market. But despite the fact that not only is Florida mentioned as one of the limited markets for the regular, and the fact that they had a media tour in Tampa nonetheless in February, my local bottler simply is not making it. I'm severely allergic to artifical sweetners (along with about 28 million other americans who suffer from migraines) and it's been taunting me for months. The diet is on the shelves here but not the regular. So, Rand was in KY and low and behold, saw it. And brought a 2Liter back with him on the plane. Making it the most expensive bottle of soda ever.

So, there ya go. Couple of photos for your weekend enjoyment.

Poor Love has to go back to work tomorrow after over a week off from the surgery and boy neither one of us is looking forward to it. Him because he doesn't want to go back to work (of course), and me because it was so nice not being alone and not being cooped up in the house without being able to leave every moment of every day. I actually felt like a real person this week. Something I haven't felt like for a long time. It's going to be damned hard going back to just being furnature in the apartment...

Anyway, I'm not going to get into how depressed this all makes me. No one wants to read that. I'm just going to go get dressed and enjoy my day.
