Reminder...

There are people on the net that have nothing better to do with their time then be nasty to other people online. They post rude comments, spend hours a day talking about sites they hate so much, that they well, spend hours a day talking about them. (lame) They mock the owners and posters for their opinions and their right to free speech. They expect everyone to fit into their narrow-minded little world view or else they throw a temper tantrum.

To these people I say grow up.

Here's a bit of info people...the web is a HUGE place. If you don't like what I say here, or who I am, or what I do, or talk about, or what I look like, or the color of my hair, or whatever asinine thing you dwell on, go somewhere else. It's really, really easy. Honest. You just click the little "x" in the corner of your browser and *poof* the offending, big, mean and nasty site has disappeared.

I pay for this site. It's mine. That means I can use it for whatever the hell I want to. Don't like it if I'm bitching about something in my life? Oh fucking well. Go somewhere else. Think I'm stupid for expressing my thoughts? Too fucking bad, don't read them. Somewhere along the line, someone forgot this simple fact: Live and let live Don't like me, cool, fine, whatever, I don't care. This journal is NOT for you. It's for me. I'm not in it for popularity or fame or anything stupid like that. I write it because I need to write and express myself and get things out of my head sometimes. So read or don't, it doesn't matter, but don't waste my time (or yours) bitching about it.

Ho Hum
Bored. Mindlessly surfing around the net but not fidning anything. Nothing to read and nothing to respond to. It hasn't changed since the last time I loaded the site.

Ripping some cd's for importing into my iTunes. Spent hours last night working on my files, properly naming them, getting them in order, sorting out duplicates, etc. Then it took about six attempts and almost two more hours to get it all updated onto my iPod. It likes to crap out randomly part way through the sync process for me. Dunno. Was hoping that it would behave better on the new hard drive with fresh install and everything. Love's doesn't give him any problems, just me. (Figures.) Electronics and I have a love/hate relationship - on both sides. So, I guess I'm a glutton for pain since I'm trying to add another few cd's worth of songs today after I finish ripping them.

I feel like doing something creative but I lack the momentum to actually do it. It's just so much easier to sit and remain stagnent.

Super broke. Bills piling up that can't be paid. Dealing with retarded and annoying companies (fuck you Verizon.) Still panicked about the domain hosting expiring and not having enough money to pay that. (Anyone want to buy something to help me out? Worth a shot. I'm running out of time and I don't know what I'm going to do yet.

My allergies are bugging me. Today and yesterday. Nose just keeps running and my throat keeps getting scratchy. And the inside of my left nostril got so dried out from the cold weather and the aforementioned allergy problems that it cracked. And now there's a scab that keeps recracking open everytime I blow my nose. (No matter how careful I am.) I know. Disgusting, right? And probably TMI. Sorry, but it's really annoying and it hurts on top of it.

So, American Idol boasted the highest number of call-ins yet last night - 120 million people. I still think they'd get more if you had the option to vote for or against someone. Like that ubber-beeyatch-Fran-Dresher-wannabe-someone-hit-her-between-the-eyes-to-straighten-them-out Mikahla Gordon. Hell, I know I'd call 5, 6 or 7 hundred times against her. (For the record, I really like Anwar and Nadia.) Of course, every week we get to see snippets on the news for Tampa native, Jessica - "I'm LIVE at Jessica's Grandmother's home! Hear their thoughts on the 10 o'clock news!" (Um, no. Really.)

So...yeah. It's still chilly here though a warmer day then it was yesterday. Another night in the 40's though. Which is really freakish for us in March. And even odder when I'm hearing people in lik Oregon and Washington state celebrate temps in the 60's/70's. Weirdness.

Alright, well I think I'm going to scrounge for food. So what if Love will be home with dinner in like two hours? I haven't eaten (bad M!) and I need to. So, TTFN.

Note: TWO HOURS later, let's see if it will actually load now and publish. Fucking blogger.

Extreme Home Makeover
...is apparently in town. Or at least a nearby town within the area. Currently rebulding a new house for Jamie Dolan of 99th Way North in Seminole, the Extreme Team this time is helping out a man who was blinded in a shooting. Last November, two people were killed during a robbery of the Radio Shack Dolan worked at. Dolan was the only survivor.

I'm sure it's a mad house but I admit, I'm damned curious. We might swing by there to watch a little bit this weekend. I mean, come on, it's kinda cool.

Holy Windy Day Batman!
The wind has been blowing hard all day. Like 22mph steady with gusts upward of like 30+mph. Sheesh! This apartment doesn't have the huge oak tree right out front like my old complex had, but you can still hear it howl. In fact, the wind makes a pretty eerie sound as it blows through the landing outside the front door. Guess some big storm system is moving our way. Heck, we even have a wind advisory and coastal warning right now:
A strong cold front will move across the area today...Bringing with it a period of strong winds. Strong southwest winds ahead of the front will be sustained at 20 to 25 mph with gusts into the 30s possible this morning. After the front moves through the area... Strong northwest winds of 20 to 25 mph will continue through this afternoon. The wind will begin to diminish this evening.

We were supposed to have thunderstorms and such too, but so far, the sky has been clear. At least here. Though we'll be getting some low overnight temps the next few nights. Back down into the 40's. Which is pretty odd for this time of year for us. March is firmly past what we laughingly call "winter" around here and our days start getting back to being too hot.

Found my email files. Finally. So I can get email again! Yeah. There were almost a thousand spam messages in my giveneyestosee box. That's absurd. Especially since that's AFTER they go through the spam assasin thingy. Something is clearly wrong when you get that much spam. And hell, every couple days I have to login to my control panel and delete my spam file. I run out of disk space at least once a week because of that. Took forever to get everything set back up though because it's a real bitch. I had to recreate all the accounts then copy the files into the newly created account folders to get back my email. Then I actually installed Thunderbird and imported the settings but had to manually copy over the giveneyestosee emails because for some reason it wasn't working. Ugh!

Next I need to figure out why my soundcard isn't working. The onboard card was working but it sounds like ass. I disabled it last night but now, I can't get windows to see my soundcard. (Nothing special, just a soundblaster but much better then the onboard one.) Once I do that, then it's time to tackle 4.5 gigs of music files to work on recreating my iPod library again. But so many of the mp3's are all badly named or misnamed and though I had fixed the library names previously, I have to do it again now. Which requires listening to the files named things like "track 01" to find out what it actually is. So, that has to wait until the soundcard works. Which Love said he'd look at for me after work.

I never did manage to find my Firefox settings. All the ones I did were back from November 2004 and really out of date. So, I'm in the proccess of trying to manually recreate my settings and my bookmarks and remember what the heck I had set up how. Which is more of a pain then you'd think at first glance. Bookmarks afterall, are so you don't actually have to remember what the heck was there, it does it for you. Makes it hard to remember what was where.

Did some towels, vacuumed the house, took a shower, emptied and refilled the dishwasher. Not exactly in that order. A busy day so far. Which wraps up this entry for the moment. So...ttfn.

Few Photos
Just a handful of images that have been on my camera the last week or two during the downtime.

Red rose from a bunch that Love got me to cheer me up a week or so ago.

Rose petals floating on the surface of the water

2005 Grammy Award Winner (Best Native American Album) Bill Miller at the free concert last weekend.

Another of him and his band

Cherry Quartz necklace (and a matching bracelet) I made last week.

Chipped Red Goldstone Necklace I made last week.

So, you can see, there's been a lot I've had to share but have been trapped on the camera. In the next day or two, I'll get a PhoenixFire Designs updated too.

The Best of Times
...the worst of times.

Oy. So, good news is that I'm typing this from my real pc again. The guys were able to get a replacement hard drive installed and set up yesterday for me. The additional good news is that at about midnight last night, I found all my installation and driver cd's so I was able to get all my speciality things up and running (camera software, trackball drivers, etc.)

Bad news is that I can not track down my email files nor my settings for Firefox. I know they're around somewhere, but they're not where they should be and the profile/bookmark settings I did find for Firefox are months out of date. Grumble. That and I woke up this morning and had no internet connectivity. At all. None. Had to call them and it seems that sometime between last night when I turned the pc off and this morning when I turned it on, my router stopped working properly. She reset the modem and it wouldn't work through the router and then reset the modem again with it plugged directly from modem to my network card and I finally got connectivity. Bah. So I had to download a quick firewall since I didn't have any hardware firewall protection anymore. I'm online now, but I still don't have my email set up and I'm sketchy on my bookmarks too. When Love gets home, I'll have him reinstall the old (bad) 40gig that was my C: and we can plow through it one more time for my email and browser settings.

Anyway, it's coming along. Still a lot to do, but we're better off then we were before.

It's On It's Way!
The guys are on thier way back with my pc. The harddrive is installed and so is WinXP. That's the good news. The bad news is that I can't find a single damned driver cd for my stuff. It was all together but now it's all together missing.

*grumbles*

Of course, there's a lot of work ahead once they get here. All the program downloads, installs and getting everything set back up the way I want it. But, good news is that at least there's a functioning hard drive with a functioning operating system to build up from.

Hopefully, this will be my last entry on the crappy laptop for awhile. TTFN.
