One of those days
So, last night about midnight, our apartment starting feeling really hot. We look and though it was set about 74 or so, it was about 85 in here. Open up the panel, it's all iced over. Call emergency repair. Wait. Call again. Wait. About 1:20am, someone finally shows up. This is, keep in mind, the second time the a/c unit has frozen up in two months. It was apparently all frozen outside - solid ice. So, we had to run the fan without cooling all night. (Fun electric bill that.) I didn't sleep for anything all night.

The guy was going to be out first thing in the morning - 8:30am - to track down where the leak was after it all thawed out and get it working again. So I'm fittfully dozing, making sure I hear them when they come to fix the unit. 8:30am....9:30am...10:30am... No one's come by, no one's called me. For those not in Florida, today's forecast high was for like 83F so it's not without warrent that we want our a/c working again.

Back and forth with the office and the a/c is finally fixed tweleve hours after the discovery of it iced over, about 12:15pm. Ugh. Their utter incompentence with repair and maintenence requests disgusts me. They've still yet to address the dishwasher which we reported two days after moving in, nor the hot water heater (which is full of sediment and drying out our skin horribly) three weeks after reporting it. No one does anything and it's really souring me on my new apartment. Which sucks. Because otherwise, I really like it here. But these appliance problems and repair issues that aren't even remotely being addressed are so frustrating. And making it a miserable day-to-day environment.

Thankfully at least the air is working. Again. Maybe one of these days, we'll get the rest of the issues looked at and, *gasp* fixed.
