*laughs* I tell you, these people just don't know if they're coming or going. My "normal" schedule at my temp job is 9am-1pm, M-F. Pretty simple and straight-forward. Well, last Monday (the 22nd) was the office xmas party. The owner told me they were closing for the rest of the week and to come back for Monday (today, the 29th) and Tuesday (tomorrow the 30th) and that he'd figure out the rest of the week's schedule after that. So, of course, I show up at 9am like I'm supposed to. I'm answering both phones (like normal) and on one of them I take messages and give to the other department. Well I go to take my message back there and there's no one there. I ask the boss if I'm supposed to be taking messages and he's all surprised like, oh yeah, they're closed. Let it go to voicemail. (nice of him to let me know, right? after taking messages that now will not get answered.) When I ask him about the rest of the week, he's confused again. Like it hadn't even occurred to him to give it any thought. It's like pulling teeth with him, you have to ask very specific questions or you get the most broad and helpless answer. He tells me to ask the others if they're here on New Year's Eve. If so, then I can go ahead and come in. If not, then don't. (I then have to specifically clarify what should be obvious, but isn't because he won't answer a question like, "what is the schedule this week?" that the office is in fact closed on the first. Ok, yes it is. What about the 2nd? No? Ok, fine. And is the other side closed all week as well? Yes. Sheesh!)

The the boss promptly leaves at about 9:20am. Then one of the mortgage guys leaves at about 10:45am. The second one leaves at about 11:15am. This leaves me and one other person in the building. He finally goes to pack up around noon. He's moving to walk out the door and is saying goodbye, when I comment to him about who's going to be locking up the building if no one is left? He kind of blinks at me like oh yeah.... and then says, "Well, you can go home obviously." Yeah, it was so obvious that you didn't realize you were leaving the building empty besides me until I said it. Dumbass. So then I hurry up and pack up my things. He locks the front door and we go out the back. He then says to me that I wasn't even supposed to be here today. *blink* Um, hello? The boss told me to come in Monday and Tuesday. This was news to him. I then tell him that I don't even know what's going on for next week seeing as the boss originally said that it was temp through the end of the month and then we'd play it by ear. So....do I show up next week also or not? And I'm still going on what the boss said and I'll be there tomorrow (who knows for how long) and I guess Friday though now that seems hazy as well.

These people just don't have their acts together at all and it's really annoying to just drift so much with when they do and do not want me to be there. Like there wasn't a reason in the world for me to be there today. There was zip to do. And tomorrow I'm sure will be the same. Hell, I don't even know if they'll be anyone there tomorrow morning to let me in! It would be comical if it wasn't such a pain in my ass. (I have to get up at 7am, take my Love into work for 8am, come home, get ready and then get myself in, not to mention having to pick him back up at 5pm. It's kinda a big deal and so it'd be nice to know for sure what my schedule is!)

Oy! Who runs a business this way?
