I'll be finally moving the journal over to it's new location www.giveneyestosee.com/journal the next couple days. The files have been moved, now it's a matter of publishing all the archives and making new redirect pages. Also, all of the materials like photography and such is being moved to giveneyestosee.com as well. (It will be coming off DDD in the next couple days as well)

Bear with me if things get wonky...soon we'll be up where I've been wanting to be for months now. Nice and seperate from DDD like my site belongs. :)

Haven’t written much lately, so I guess I need to catch up a bit.

Yesterday (Wednesday, August 21st 2002) I had my lovely annual. Arg. Luckily, I’m able to go to the County Health Department and get it (and my pills) for free since I have no income. It was at 9:30am and my Mom was coming with me so I had to take my Love in at 8am and head on up. I was so tired, I got all of like 4 hours sleep the night before. It went as well I suppose as can be expected, those things are just sheer hell for me and it wasn’t helped by the fact I’ve been stuck pretty much on my period continuously for weeks now. (It’s been this way for months, getting worse and worse – all the more reason I needed to get in there so I could get a different prescription). The bad thing is I may have to go back in again in like a month or two because of it. *cries* They decided to change my pill and put me on one with estrogen again (the one I’ve been on the last couple years was a progesterone one only). I’m hopeful but worried because the whole reason I was on one without was because of my migraines and my periods being even worse (if you can imagine, worse then like 3 weeks out of every 4. I hate my body). The doctor said to try to stick it out three months to get my body adjusted to it, but I’m really worried about the migraines more then anything. So, here’s for good results.

In non women’s health news, after that my mom and I spent the day together. We hung out and went to the mall by her. We were walking through a department store and a purse caught my eye. I’ve been wanting a new purse forever since my other one is almost two years old and too large for me. I put too much in it and then it absolutely kills my bad shoulder. Of course, a purse is a luxury we haven’t had money for so I’ve been trying to deal with it. But the one caught my eye and I stopped to look at it. I wasn’t sure I liked the strap though since I guess the new thing is a really short strap that puts it right under your armpit. We ended up looking all over for like a half and hour and I still liked the one I first saw the best. My mom ended up buying it for me (she had a $25 credit for the store and the purse was on sale for $20). I love it a lot and I was so happy since it was such a great treat – ooh! New purse! lol It’s by Nine West and is a dark brown leather. I simply love it.

After that, my mom and I went and had lunch at the food court in the mall and ran some more errands. We stopped by her mom’s house (I call her my Nanny because she never wanted to be called “grandmother” since she thought it was too old sounding. Gotta understand, she was very young when she had her first grandchild! Nanny stuck and everyone’s called her that since) and looked at a bunch of old photos of her family. Her mom, her father (who died when she was nine so I certainly never got to meet), their flower shop they had for like twenty years in New York (“Triangle Florist”), etc. Very neat, very interesting…nice to hear some stories like that.

All-in-all I had a really nice day. My mom was feeling pretty good that day (a good thing with her annoying disease – scleroderma - which was nice. Despite the nasty start of the day and the reason I was up by her in the first place, I had a nice day.
After the day with my mom, we went over to Rand’s house and watched “Resident Evil” on DVD with him and his family. Damn was that a stinker of a movie. Gross, gory, and so very, very bad. (like all video game movies are) And to think I had heard it wasn’t half bad. (they were right, it was ALL bad lol). Ugh, bleck. It’d definitely not for kids and even less for those who don’t like the site of blood and gory guts either. I do not recommend it.

Today (Thursday, August 22, 2002), my Love wasn’t feeling well – he didn’t sleep at all last night for some reason – and took the day off. We cleaned the apartment and then did some grocery shopping (he gets paid tomorrow, so we wrote a check tonight). Hadn’t done a large trip in awhile, so we stocked up on some food stuffs. The fridge was barren so it was more then time. I had my camera with me because I’ve been wanting to get a picture of this:

Yes, the box does in fact say, Nutty Nuggets. It’s the generic store version of Grape Nuts. But who the heck thought to name their product nutty nuggets? I mean, didn’t they think of how silly that sounded? *lol* It just cracked me up. Sorry, but I don’t eat any cereal called “Nutty Nuggets” – sounds like far too much information to me, kinda like that’s what you’ll get if you eat their cereal… ;)

While we were there, I also found something really funny that caught my eye. We’re heading towards the marinades and it’s just past the ketchup. Well, as we pass the Heinz 57 (only the BEST ketchup ever thank you very much), I notice the label says something weird. Turns out they had FOUR different funny labeled bottles there, so I took a pic of all of them:

They say (in case you can’t read it) from Left-Right the following: ”Prefers your shelf to this one” “Your fish stick improvement system” Good on taste buds” and “Taller then Mayonnaise” That cracked me up. Seems they’re running some sorta funny label promo, but I had to give it up, that’s amusing as hell.

Anyway, that’s about the sum of the last couple days. I’m going to connect to the net now and upload the entry. I was able to go over to Rand’s yesterday and transferred all the files from DDD to Giveneyestosee.com that I needed to make the journal move, so I’m going to try to do that tomorrow (Friday). I was going to do it today, but my Love was home so I didn’t want to be online all day with him here. I actually haven’t been online for more then a few minutes in like three days, I’m going into withdrawal! ;)

Oh, one more thing. I’m uploading a new photo gallery called Views From a Balcony : Sunsets As you may know, Florida has one thing going for it; some truly breathtaking sunsets. Lately, I’ve been catching them on film and I’m adding them to a gallery of ongoing pictures taken right from my balcony. Hope you enjoy.

Alright, well I’ve blathered enough for now. :)

Freaked out because I have my women's annual appointment tomorrow at the Health Department (so I can stay on the Pill so I don't die from anemia) and I'm well, freaked out about it. I hate it like any sane woman does, but I have..issues...with that sort of thing because of, well, let's just leave it at a bad childhood shall we? It's just about the most terrifying and unnerving thing in my life and I can't believe a year has already gone by since the last. Fuck. I hate these things. Not to mention it's at 9:30am so I'm up when my Love is for work at 7am and that sucks too. Hense, I'm off to bed. Here's hoping I can sleep.

It's raining, it's pouring, the old man is snoring....

A rainy day today. Lightning has been burning a path across the sky as thunder rattles our homes and vibrates in our bodies. It was a dark and stormy night... Felt good to be snuggled up in my bed, hiding under the warmth and safety of my comforter this morning as the gods fought in the clouds... (at least, that's what its sounded like all day). There's something so soothing about sleeping during a storm..something that connects you with the raw power of nature in a way you otherwise are not (especially when trying to navigate in a storm, then you simply feel at odds with nature).

For the record, I didn't like XXX or The Adventures of Pluto Nash. We saw them both this weekend (yeah for cheap matinee shows) and I didn't really like either. XXX had more potential, but got bogged down as the movie went on by more and more stupidly contrived plot points (shooting a harpoon at a boat as you're racing down a road at 90mph from like 300 yard away? *sighs*) It lost itself in the need to get unbelievable. I'd give it like a C-. Now, Pluto Nash...ugh. Had some funny moments, but was very poorly written. Felt very loosly strung together - like there was no actual movie, just a bunch of scenes that were sorta connected loosly to each other. I'd give that one a D-.

Not much else to write about so I'm out.

eh. don't feel like writing. maybe I will tomorrow. *shrugs* kinda out of it right now.
