Wasn't supposed to be here again today, but they ended up requesting I come back in because of some lingering network issues that were unresolvable yesterday. (We had to reboot the server down here a few times and had already done it yesterday as well - taking everyone off their pc's during the process - and didn't want to close out their day early as they were stuck without their computers) Additionally, there's some lingering problems with come printer connectivity on a couple machines and so I'm waiting right now to hear back from the MIS office in Philly to get the problem resolved. Unfortunatly, several people up there are out (such as Chris and his boss Rob) because they are out of town for some meeting thingy. (gone yesterday too) Figures of course that I can't even tease Chris and get paid to do it. ;)

Anyway, everyone's pretty swamped up there and they just had a server crash on their end so....arg. Tech problems abound. But that really is to be expected every so often when you're dealing with as large a network as this one and one with as many users, offices, and servers involved. Seems like a crisis to those who don't know it, but to those who do it, it's just an agravation ya know?

Everyone here is so nice though. It's really cool. The lady that works up front supporting this office is a real sweety. She was all impressed at my website and the pictures I took on it. And I stuck up one of my shots here on the machine I'm using (for a newbie employee starting Monday) and got several compliments on it when I said it was mine. They were like, you took that? wow and that made my day. (it's in the May Garden shots if you want it yourself) She made me give her my web address so she could come and check it out herself. Always flattering to get another fan. lol

Stil haven't heard anything on the interview I was on the other day...but then, our cell is off again. (arg) I tried to call her yesterday to check up on the situation, but she didn't answer and I left a message. Of course, this was before I knew the phone was off (because it was on yesterday morning). Arg arg arg. So now, again, it's a mad rush to figure out how we get it back on since I had several people pending to call me about jobs and interviews and now everyone's getting a "we're sorry" message about me being unavailable at this time. Blah. What shitty timing. What sucks is we just paid the bill like a little under two weeks ago, but since we didn't pay it all (just the past due amount) and the fact I think the next bill cycle started, we have a past due again so they turned us off. This game of desperately trying to play catch up and the juggling to keep utilities on is really getting old. Not to mention I'm supposed to have paid my bank $70 today for the remainder of the car loan payment for the month and that's just not going to happen. I had hoped I'd get the check for the logo work I did for Chris a couple weeks ago and that it would cover is (it's a $75 check) but it's not come in yet and now I'm screwed. It's so frustrating you know to be trying and trying and to really think you're finally getting at least something done and then you end up exactly where you were anyway - but with dashed hopes as things fall apart. Bah.

Like these three days here are WONDERFUL but I still had to put out money I didn't have upfront for things like parting (like $10/day), gas ($20 to fill my tank) and food (like $3 a day trying to be as cheap as possible) oh and the $20 ticket I got in the parking garage for being parked there with an expired tag (and another could very well be there today) and I won't get it for another couple weeks...it's like so close to being really great, but at the same time, just another tease you know? Like I need it today, not two weeks from now. By then, any number of remaining things will be turned off like power and we'll be out of food, gas, and such. So very frustrating...

Anyway, that's me getting annoyed for the day. Hope everyone has a great weekend and I hope I get a chance to come online again for real - like from my friend's where I can surf - some day this weekend. If not, sorry, but my net's possibilities are so very limited right now it's hard to plan for anything. Take care.

Wow, look at this. Two entries; two days in a row. lol It's like the good old days. (eh, sorta) I'm back today at Chris' company finishing up some MIS, Networking, and CSS work and I thought I'd pop off another quicky post while I had a chance.

I think I'm getting sick. Blah. That just bites. I tell my Love that this morning and he says, "you know, I think I am too." Blah. So, someone, somewhere has seemingly given us a oh-so-lovely summer cold. I'm ok for right now, but my nose keeps getting stuffy, I'm coughing, and just achy in that feel-like-you're-getting-sick kinda way. I hope it blows over though because being sick is a miserable thing.

On brighter news front: My interview yesterday went really well. Joked and laughed and got complimented by the interviewer which is always a good thing. She was really nice and apparently lives right near me, but she's leaving shortly to take a teaching job. The company though seems really cool - they have a complete gym with showers and lockers on site as well as an arcade with a bunch of games and things like pool and ping pong, with couches, tv's, vcr's ect. They were all joking around with each other when I was waiting in the lobby and the lobby itself has a mini museum of rare and old cars. Pretty darned neat. I'm psyched because I guess it was a really long ordeal to even get a call let alone an interview - of the 75+ people who submitted resumes, only like a dozen actually got a call. And that was only after a team of four seperate managers went through and all had to agree on a candidate's resume. So, it was an ego boost to know I was liked by four people, narrowed down from 75 applicants and that the interviewer praised me multiple times. She even asked for my references which is always a good sign. They never ask for that sort of thing if they're not seriously interested in you. So, fingers crossed!!

Still waiting to hear what's going on with the Unemployment. I filed waaaay back in April. And I'm waiting on an authorization on like $1400 from over eight weeks of checks. I'm just getting the run-around. arg arg arg.

Uh....ok, I can't think of anything else for the moment and I'm distracted with about ten other things I'm doing at the same time too, so I'm going to close. Take care all and thanks for your well wishes.

Egads....haven't had time to really write an entry even offline so this is a very brief run down of the last couple days since my last entry.

Sunday, June 22, 2002 - Got a paper and found a LOT of ads in it to reply to. Went over to my friend Rand's house and managed to fax and email out about twenty resumes from different ads. That's a lot. There haven't been more then about six or so a week the last couple months.

Monday, June 23, 2002 - Joolo came over on his way home from work (he works from 10pm - 10am on the weekends only) and he took me to go see "Lilo and Stich." I have to admit I wasn't overly excited about it, but I really ended up enjoying it. Apparently, it's the second movie made here in Florida (at Disney World in Orlando) and done in watercolor - something that was last done in "Dumbo" It really looked beautiful. And, despite not liking Stich in the beginning and knowing they were going to try to make you like him, it worked and by the end, I did.

Tuesday, June 24, 2002 - Was supposed to head over to Chris' Tampa Office to do some more MIS work for them but I woke up with a killer migraine and I could not drive like that so I had to pass off for the day. Joolo came over later on that night and I dyed his hair plum (looks really cool) and we watched the DVD release of Tron. (which was fun and funny yet still entertaining 20 years later).

Today, Wednesday, June 25, 2002 - Got off to a late start after getting a call as I'm on my way out the door to leave to head into the Tampa Office when someone calls me back in regards to a resume I sent out on Sunday. (weee!) They want to do an interview today - arg! TODAY? - and so I'm juggling with them to get something set up but still get here into this office and yet not pass up the chance to get a full time job and so now I'm here trying to get some stuff done and then make it to the interview at 4pm. *my nerves are shot!*

Oh my word. I need to do some CSS work for them and daaaaaaaaamn there's a hell of a lot of fields to work with on the template.

Anyway, gotta run. That's the nickle tour version. More as it's possible...
