Too many things to report, too damn tired to type....let's see what I can get through.

First...I'm sick!
Blah....having a cold just SUCKS. Damn...there were moments yesterday and today that I really just wanted to die so that I wouln't have to endure the HELL that is the common, damn, cold. The nose that won't stop, the throat lined in thick sandpaper, that nasty-assed taste coating your mouth, tongue, and teeth, the way you ache all the way to your stupid hair, and the way that you're just as unhappy sleeping as awake and that time mocks you and goes extra slowly just to prolong your suffering.

In short, I got sick. Nailed by it is more like. Woke up yesterday and I was miserable. Thought I'd work through it. No such luck. By 10am, my boss literally made me leave. I was so sick I was actually worried if I could make it home. (You know when you're head gets so stuffed that you can't retain what you just did like 5 seconds ago?) I made it home and collapsed into bed. This was about, oh...11am. I slept until 4pm and only got up because I knew I had to #1: pee and #2: eat something. I made myself some chicken noodle soup (mmm..mmm...good) and managed to retain the state of wakefullness until about 10:45pm that night). My boss called me about 7pm and told me that if I did not feel truly better to just stay home and get well. This morning I tried to get up...I really did. But...oh man. Was still feeling like poop. I called and apologized more then was probably needed, but...I was worried. I mean, being sick on your third day sorta sucks. Seeing as it was the President who made me go home though, I don't feel quite so bad...

Thought I was done with the cops
Ok, so first my original court date is Monday (October 29th) and I'm already freaking out enough as it is (despite the fact that I'm sporting a new VALID license and my cool for-distance glasses) when on Tuesday my boss asks me to run to the store for some coffee, sugar, and stuff. No problem. But either he gives the directions wrong, I hear them wrong, or both, but in any case I make a wrong turn. Long story short, I turn around (after calling the office and finding the error in my route) and get pulled over almost imediately thereafter. I honestly don't know why and say as much when the officer pulls me over. Turns out that he says the school zone is in effect which reduces the speed limit from 40mph to 15mph. They clocked me at 35mph. I know for a fact that I saw the "school zone" sign and it was NOT flashing (not flashing, no speed limit change). He claims otherwise and gives me a ticket. The shitty part is the cost. Because I was clocked doing 20 miles over the 15mph and that it's a school zone, my ticket is for $320.00. Yes, that's right, THREE HUNDRED TWENTY DOLLARS. It's pretty much at this point that I burst out into tears. It's my second day I tell him...I don't have that kind of money!

The good side of things is that not only do I think I can beat it - the school zone ends at 9am I am 99% sure and I can prove by the time I was on my cell phone that it was after 9am when he pulled me over (despite the fact that he wrote 8:58am on the ticket) and thus get the ticket repealled - but that also, my boss said he felt sorry that I got the ticket and that he felt partially responsible for it and wants to help me pay for it. Either way, I'm coming out really good for a potentially shitty situation. And damn! My boss on the day that he sent me home sick as he called me to check up on how I was doing offers to help me pay for the ticket. Wow. That is so nice. It's such a good feeling to know that I am really thought of positively. :)

But...I do have the looming Court Date on Monday and I don't know what will come of that....

The job and stuff like that
Well, as you read, things are so far, so great. My boss REALLY loves me. Everyone there has had nothing but nice things to say and I'm so psyched about how much he trusts my opinon...on everything from technical things like pc purchases to the layout of the office and how should he rearrange it? I mean, he really wants my input on all sorts of things. Getting in with the company right now, where's it's pretty new, means that I will be getting the foot-in-the-door chance to move up within the company as it grows. People will be coming in after me that are going to be under me...and I've also picked out my office in the new floor layout I'm helping create. Yes, I said Office. My first non-cubicle, has a door Office. Yippie! *smiles*

Um.....damn being sick
I know there is more stuff I wanted to mention, but...that whole pesky being sick and forgetting things 5 seconds later thing has struck again. Let me go ahead and post this and if I remember the rest I'll try to get it up before I leave here for the night...ta for now.
