There are people on the net that
have nothing better to do with their time then be nasty to other
people online. They post rude comments, spend hours a day talking
about sites they hate so much, that they well, spend hours a day
talking about them. (lame) They mock the owners and posters for
their opinions and their right to free speech. They expect everyone
to fit into their narrow-minded little world view or else they throw
a temper tantrum.
To these people I say
grow up.
Here's a bit of info people...the
web is a HUGE place. If you don't like what I say here, or who I am,
or what I do, or talk about, or what I look like, or the color of my
hair, or whatever asinine thing you dwell on,
go somewhere else. It's really, really easy. Honest. You just
click the little "x" in the corner of your browser and *poof* the
offending, big, mean and nasty site has disappeared.
I pay for this site. It's mine.
That means I can use it for whatever the hell I want to. Don't like
it if I'm bitching about something in my life? Oh fucking well. Go
somewhere else. Think I'm stupid for expressing my thoughts? Too
fucking bad, don't read them. Somewhere along the line, someone
forgot this simple fact: Live and let live
Don't like me, cool, fine, whatever, I don't care. This
journal is NOT for you. It's for me. I'm not in it for popularity or
fame or anything stupid like that. I write it because I need to
write and express myself and get things out of my head sometimes. So
read or don't, it doesn't matter, but don't waste my time (or yours)
bitching about it.

Slimy Dealership - Part 2: The Revenge! So, I'm going to keep this short(er) but there's been updates since yesterday.
To sum if you didn't read yesterday's: Bought a car with a 30 day powertrain warranty. Have a major issue with my intake manifold. Intake manifold is clearly part of the engine. Fought with slimy dealership for over 4 hours yesterday. Got $450 of nearly $800 quote and nothing else.
Well, today both my step-father and myself have spoken to Chris - the used sale manager - and I must say I'm damned proud of myself. I'm awful on the phone. I have serious anxiety over it and I'll do just about anything to avoid confrontation on the phone.
Today, I gave it right to him. In a calm, collected and downright intelligent manner. Stating indisputable facts. And I backed him into a corner. Though he won't admit that he legally does owe me, he does now admit he will "do me a favor" so that I'm satisfied. I will be up there on Thursday and he will cut me an additional check for the remainder of the repair bill. I reminded him that the estimate did NOT include parts and that I would bring an updated one with me including parts so that it was an accurate quote. He tried to say that a mechanic can put anything he wants on there and I reminded him it was in HIS best interest to let me use my personal mechanic as opposed to going to a Pontiac dealership who was quoting well over a $1,000 just for ONE part of the repair. That pretty much shut him up.
I have called my mechanic and he's updating the quote for me to include every last penny. I'll get it tomorrow during our office meeting and then be armed with it for our showdown on Thursday.
Chris is so slimy though that he won't put anything in writing and instead said I "have his word" that he'll "make it right." *snorts* I don't believe him, but I DO believe that the threat of dispute on the payment of the car made him realize he wasn't going to come out of it a winner if we let it go to arbitration. Instead of being out $800 or so bucks, he'd be out the full sales price of the car. (Since not repairing the car under warranty promised would be a clear-cut breech of contract.)
SO..UGH. Another stressful day. But I'm really proud of sticking to my guns, disputing him on the bs he kept trying to peddle, argued with cold facts in a collected manner and that *knock wood* I may just come out of this with the full cost of the repairs done. I don't think he's used to people who don't back down and especially when that person is a petite woman! Maybe he'll think twice about underestimating someone in the future! (Doubt it though; I'm sure he just thinks I'm some bitchy, uppity exception to the "all women are weak minded" rule of his.)
No celebrating yet until the remaining money is in my hands, but it looks cautiously promising.
