Reminder...

There are people on the net that have nothing better to do with their time then be nasty to other people online. They post rude comments, spend hours a day talking about sites they hate so much, that they well, spend hours a day talking about them. (lame) They mock the owners and posters for their opinions and their right to free speech. They expect everyone to fit into their narrow-minded little world view or else they throw a temper tantrum.

To these people I say grow up.

Here's a bit of info people...the web is a HUGE place. If you don't like what I say here, or who I am, or what I do, or talk about, or what I look like, or the color of my hair, or whatever asinine thing you dwell on, go somewhere else. It's really, really easy. Honest. You just click the little "x" in the corner of your browser and *poof* the offending, big, mean and nasty site has disappeared.

I pay for this site. It's mine. That means I can use it for whatever the hell I want to. Don't like it if I'm bitching about something in my life? Oh fucking well. Go somewhere else. Think I'm stupid for expressing my thoughts? Too fucking bad, don't read them. Somewhere along the line, someone forgot this simple fact: Live and let live Don't like me, cool, fine, whatever, I don't care. This journal is NOT for you. It's for me. I'm not in it for popularity or fame or anything stupid like that. I write it because I need to write and express myself and get things out of my head sometimes. So read or don't, it doesn't matter, but don't waste my time (or yours) bitching about it.

Our Vacuum Cleaner Sucks
In a good way! Actually, in a gross way. When the reviews for the Bissell Cleanview PowerTrak Bagless Upright mention all the disgustingness that came out of their carpet after using it, they weren't kidding. Ewww...I mean, just ewww. Two full canisters of just nasty crap from hair to dust to particles from the living room, bedroom and bathroom. It's amazing how disgusting our carpets were. I mean I knew they were bad. And I know carpet in and of itself is ten shades of nasty to start with but, once again, ewww.

So yeah.

Ran some errands today. Nothing exciting. Pc's still rebooting itself. Nothing new. Tried to pick up some beads to make more of the red goldstone bracelet and the red Swarovski crystal choker but ran into problems. I have two other stores to hit tomorrow. Just one of those things that didn't work out the way you planned. (Well laid plans of mice and men...) Got to try a sample of the Godiva G Collection today - invitation only - since our friend Rand buys a lot from them and since I actually got a box last year. New flavors this year and I desperately want to try them. To say they're decadant is an understatment. Their regular chocolate is super yum, but this is even more amazing. We had to go to the fru-fru mall to try it since it's only a limited number of Godvia Boutiques that carry it at all. Hate that mall. Too snobby.

Um...so yeah. Nothing else of interest to say. I've not felt very good today for an unknown reason. Really over tired and was actually falling asleep like 10pm on the couch. Love's been yelling at me for like two hours to get off the pc and just go to bed. I, being stubborn, just don't want to even though I really want to. Heh.

Oh well. Maybe I'll give in. It is like 12:30am afterall. *yawns*

Chilly Apartment
I'm sitting here, getting more and more chilly. Tee shirt, boxers and no socks and my feet and hands and legs are just getting cold. I couldn't figure out what the deal was. Then I peeked at the weather. It's only 53F out (and obviously overcast). Thing was, yesterday? 74F. So yeah, twenty degrees colder would account for why I'm sitting here in my getting rather chilly apartment. Always fun sudden weather changes.

PC crashed again last night. Still can't track down the problem. And oh yeah, now my soundcard isn't working so I have no sound on my pc. It could still all very well be caused by a virus, but no matter what I do, I still can't get through a virus scan. It crashes out and reboots.

*sighs*

Hopefully though we may be able to get a vacuum cleaner tonight. Which is EXTREMELY past due. Our hasn't worked well in months and not at all in weeks. Elimitating the crustiness of the carpet and the two cats and my hair's worth of shedding will be a great change. Here's to hoping.

Brr. I'm going to go put something a little more substantial on. It's just a brisk chill in here and the tee isn't cutting it.

Just One More
Had to make a custom order tonight, so while I was working with my clay anyway, I made a Valentine's Day Penguin. I'm thinking of writing something on his heart like "Be Mine" or such, but then again, I might not. He's a cutie though so I thought I'd share.

Awww... ($10 if you want one)

I'm just crafty lately, aren't I?

More Jewelry
Been on a kick lately. Just a couple of things I've made in the last day or so.

Swarovski crystal earrings

Fire-polished Czech glass and Swarovski earrings

Natural stone Red goldstone bracelet.

Made a few more, but I've been posting way too many pics lately. Thought I'd share just a few.

Tag, You're It
Megan apparently says I have to do this meme, so you know, I'm powerless not to.

1. 10 random consecutive tracks from iTunes :
(On random shuffle since my iTunes is listed by artist)
Everything I Do, I Do it For You (Bryan Adams)
Swallowed (Bush)
Street Spirit (Radiohead)
Sledgehammer (Peter Gabriel)
Woke Up This Morning (Soprano's Theme Song)
He's a Tramp (Lady and the Tramp)
Fever (Madonna)
Goodnight Song (Tears for Fears)
Angel (Sarah McLachlan)
All I Ask of You (Phantom of the Opera: Original London Cast)

2. What is the total amount of music files on your computer?
In iTunes, 350, but at least a couple hundred more I haven't imported to my iPod yet and another 50 cd's probably I don't have mp3's of.

3. The last CD you bought was :
*whistles* No idea. Maybe Afterglow by Sarah McLachlan a couple years ago?

4.What is the song you last listened to before this meme?
Um, I haven't listened to anything today actually. But I had "Always" by Erasure in my head this afternoon. (Don't ask, I don't claim to know either.) And, I just discovered my speakers/soundcard isn't working in my computer at the moment either. *sighs*

5. Write down five songs you often listen to or that mean a lot to you.
Um...
Pretty much the entire Fumbling Towards Ecstasy cd by Sarah McLachlan
Pretty much the entire Dulcinea cd by Toad the Wet Sprocket
When We Dance (Sting)
Silent All These Years (Tori Amos)
Crazy (Seal)

Hard to narrow it down. There's specific reasons for all of these but that's a secret. Some more so then others.

6. Name three artists/bands you adore :
Sarah McLachlan
Toad the Wet Sprocket
Disney Soundtracks

7. Who are you gonna pass this on to :
Cy
Pixie
Humble

So there you go.

Oh and for the record...
We rollerbladed two miles on Sunday. I didn't fall down. Not once. Love said I did really good. I actually got some speed up and kept a pretty good constant clip. So I did really well despite everyone's expectations. I'm not always as much of a klutz as I appear. (I say this as I have a massive, swollen, welted bruise on my leg from where I went to jump off my bathroom counter and landed on the sharp, pointed edge of the drawer which didn't push back in like it was supposed to.)

Strapping wheels on my feet and push me down the road? No problem. Sharp corners on a drawer? Major problem. Eh. What can you do?

Miss Me?
Have I mentioned lately how much I loathe and despise Time Warner? Oh, sorry, that's right, it's "Bright House Networks" now. They want you to think it's something new and different, but it's the same old shit, different name.

I've had zero tv or internet access since early Monday morning. Nada. You think it's boring being stuck around your apartment without a car alone all day with cable and internet access to at least connect with the rest of the world in some small way? Try it without. To say I was going ten shades of fucking stir crazy is putting it lightly.

I've got to get my ISP login and password set up again so until I track that down, I can't reply to any of my 100+ emails. So, if you sent something, sorry, I'll get back to you. Also, I have a couple orders that I couldn't get out because I couldn't get into PayPal to get the addresses. Now I can and will get them out tomorrow. Sorry again. Also, the email address I get my LJ comments to has to be recreated so anything sent to it, or any comments I didn't reply to is because I didn't know about them and didn't realize. Even after I recreate it, I won't get those comments or emails since they deleted the account in the downtime.

So what happened you might ask? Well, Monday morning. Knock on the door. Some strange guy. Says he's with the cable company and he needs payment. I tell him, ok, I'll call in my payment right now since I need to use my credit card. (Check card actually, I don't have any credit cards at all and haven't for years, but it carries a Mastercard logo. You know how these things work.) Of course, I'm not carrying $100-odd bucks in cash on me. So, he says, "Oh, you can give me your credit card." And I'm like, Uh, yeah, hand some stranger my credit card? I don't think so. I'm not comfortable with that, I'll use the automated system instead. Dude huffs off. Huffs! Doesn't leave me any paperwork, doesn't give me anything, just huffs off. As if it's odd that a woman alone in an apartment would be uneasy about handing some strange guy her credit card.

Close door. Call in payment. Go back to desk and - big surprise - the fucker turned off the cable. Not just at the office so that they can type in a few commands and turn it back on. Nooo...at the box outside. So there's no signal coming into the building any longer. Call Love. He calls them. Bitches them out because the asshole didn't even wait five minutes for me to make the payment. They say they'll try to message him to come back out. They'll waive the reconnect fee. They're sorry. And here's the catch: if they can't reach him, the next turn-on appointment is WEDNESDAY. Did I mention they're fucktards yet? 'Cause they are.

Big surprise, Mr. Asshole doesn't reply to dispatch. And doesn't come back over to turn the cable back on. Nor does he Tuesday. Finally, someone does around lunch time today. Though they don't reconnect my RoadRunner, so I have to call and sit on the phone for a half an hour. It's finally almost 2pm and I'm online for the first time since Monday morning.

They took my money on Monday. And yet, didn't feel that actually warrented having serivce. I paid for something I didn't get and had to wait days for them to get their sorry asses back over here to reconnect. Are you seeing a pattern in the way they think "customer service" should be handled? Even the supervisor who Love talked to on Monday said she, as a woman, wouldn't be comfortable handing her credit card to some guy on her doorstep either. I don't care who you are or who you say you are, that just doesn't fly for me. And because Mr. Asshole has a fucking complex, and a serious attitude adjustment is needed, I have to suffer for it? What a shithead.

There's been more fun these last couple days but it's not something I want to even think about. Suffice to say though that the plan to get Love's car fixed with tax returns isn't going to happen. And now we don't know what the hell we're going to do.

It's been on absurdly fucking horrible week so far. I can't even express how frustrated I am with life, the universe and everything. Every time we plan to try to make something better, we get beat the fuck down before we can even try. And I'm so damned sick of it.

Anyway, I'm going to try to get everything set back up. My incoming email is working, comments are working but outgoing's not at the moment. That's still leftover from the disconnect. (They have this lovely thing where if they disconnect you for even five minutes, they totally delete your account, login and email addresses. So I actually need to call them again, get the new login and recreate our email addresses again.) I've got a lot of catching up to do, communities to check, forums to look at, and whatnot, so bear with me.

Rollerblading
Uh oh. Nervous. Love got me rollerblades not last month for Christmas, but the Christmas before. And I've never used them. We're on our way out the door right now to try for the first time. I did it once like seven years ago and didn't fall down, but haven't since.

Wish me luck. Heh.

Moment of Cute
Just because adorable cat photos are always good journal filler when you have nothing else to write about...

Gracie sleeping under the blanket on the couch.

Gracie sleeping in a way only kitties can find comfortable.

She's too freakin' cute for words sometimes.

So Amazed
I totally love my dryer. It, quite frankly, fucking rocks. We've done every one of our towels, shirts, jeans, underware, socks and more already this evening. In about four and a half hours. The dryer dries seven towels in the same time the next load takes to wash. It's a freakin' miracle.

I'm so happy about it. I was stressed out over how much of a pain in the ass the process has been and how much we had to shell out (that we didn't have) to get it hooked up today (hot water hose, cold water hose, drain hose, and 3-prong to 4-prong plug change-over) but seeing how well it works and how damned fast...just wow.

My friend Rand pointed out that this is our first major appliance purchase together. Awww... *smiles* Seriously though, I'm SO relieved.
