Hockey Rules
So last night we got to see our first hockey game of the season in person. My friend Rand's company has season tickets again this year: four seats one row off the glass, down by the goalie. Very nice seats. The game yesterday was the Coyotes against the Lightning. For many years I really loved the 'Yotes. I have two jersies of theirs and an assortment of other items. There's a list of silly reasons that I made them my team years back. The thing now is that every member of the team is totally different now and the only players I know of - at all - are the couple people who used to play here for the Lightning. They also changed their jersies to a really ugly white/red now (bleck) and they just feel like a totally different team. I hadn't had a chance to see them play live for years because they hadn't come for a game in Tampa. So...they don't feel like "my" team anymore. Anyway, I ended up rooting for the local boys (who went on to win 5-1) since at least I know our players. Not to mention, my fav player over all - the Lightning's netminder, Khabibulin - used to be on the Coyotes and I was a fan of his back then. It's nice to be able to root for your fav player. Now that he's local to us, it's even better. People know now what I've known for like five years: he's an EXCELLENT goaltender.

Anyway, the game was on the Sunshine network. And I recorded it just for the heck of it. At one point in the second period, my Love and I even ended up on the Jumbotron. *grins* That was the first time I'd ever been on it. When I skimmed through the recording, that wasn't on it, but there was another shot of us when one of the Sunshine annoucers was talking - we were right behind him. *lol* Plus, anytime the play came down to that end, you'd see the backs of our heads. Kinda cool in a really silly way.

I love hockey though. It's just so much damned fun. And it's awesome that his company has the season tickets because those seats carry a $107 box office cost to them, each. Oy. Normally we get our tickets from scalpers when we go that's not for free so we never spend that much, but still. It's also a little harder since the Lightning were the Southeast Division Champions last year - they're getting a little more attention and fan support (making the tickets a little more sought out.) This was only the second game in their season though (both solid wins) but hopefully it's a good sign of the way the season will pan out.

Real Life Jerry Springer Meets Yo! MTV Raps Meets Cops
We've been having all kinds of issues with our neighbors. I've mentioned in the past that we feel like we're living in a real-life episode of Jerry Springer: peirced, pregant, ex-con trailer escapees drinking, yelling, fighting on a 24/day, 7/day a week schedule - all outside their apartments and causing all kinds of noise and disturbance. I called the cops on them a week or two back because it was 1:30am on like a Tuesday night and a half dozen people were drinking, yelling and throwing bottles everywhere. Well, last night, as I watched through the recorded game at like 3am, they start up again. Rap music is just BLARING out of one of the apartments across from us, people are just yelling and laughing and screaming to each other (not talking, but full-volume YELLING), throwing stuff, stomping around up and down the stairs, all along the 2nd floor level (back and forth over and over - one of them in high heels), opening and closing the door over and over, etc. etc. 3:00am....3:15am....3:30am....and then...I hear someone knocking on one of the doors. Knocking for a good couple minutes. It's about 3:45am and I realize that the music has stopped. I peer out my peephole and see a cop. I go to the sliding glass doors and glance out towards the parking lot. Sure enough, two cop cars. They're taking one guy in handcuffs and talking to a group of others. Words like violating your parole and underage drinking added with scolding like you're being disrepestful to your neighbors, they have jobs, families and responsibilities and you can't be making this much noise like this.... Go cops! I'm pretty sure they put another guy in the other car (one guy starts in with saying how he doesn't live here, he lives in another city 20 minutes up the road, but he doesn't know his address 'cause he just moved - yeah right, cop's going to buy that one) and they cleared everyone up.

I tell my Love about this today and he calls the apartment complex and bitches them out. We were utterly conviced that they had switched to being a "low income"/section 8 housing type place and she was quick to say no no no...not at all. Yeah well, we live in the ghetto building then because these people are just trash. Anyway, we also find out that our lease expired (no one bothered telling us) and that technically we're on month-to-month right now. He bitched at her for that and said we sure as hell weren't going to be paying MORE rent since no one informed us of our lease ending. Anyway, now we have the big pressure to hurry up and find a place to move to and get everything in order for a move. Ugh. I dread moving but things just keep getting worse and worse and worse. There's no way you should pay this much to live in this kind of environment. No way. So the race to find a new apartment officially begins. *sigh* but at the same time, I can only HOPE we find a nice, quiet, NORMAL neighborhood to move into.

Alright, long post and I want to go get dressed so I'm going to close. Don't forget, I still have SEVEN PAIRS OF CUSTOM, HAND MADE HORNS FOR SALE ON EBAY RIGHT NOW!. Only a few days left for auction. With Priority Mail (2-3 day delivery time), you WILL get these on time for Halloween if you are within the US (and possibly Canada, I'd need to find out from the USPS about it) Also, remember, I CAN and WILL make a custom pair - in a different color or style - if you see something you like for auction, but want slightly different. I've made three custom orders so far and it's a day turn-around time. Same prices as the pairs for auction.

Out for now. :)

Thankfully the guy finally showed up and got it fixed. We got our water and air conditioner back by about 8:15pm.

I forgot to mention that last Sunday, I gave Mika her first bath. (Well, first with me, I assume she's had one sometime in her life prior to living with me.) I went ahead and formatted the pics and put them together on a silly page. They're quite amusing.

In other news....
West Wing wasn't on tonight. I don't know why. And I can't find out anything on it either. It was supposed to be a new episode tonight, but when I turned to it, a Law & Order episode came on instead. And the local channel ran a banner across the bottom saying that it would be back with a new episode next week.

Tonight "The West Wing" pulls North Korea into the mix as a pianist from Pyongyang announces he wants to defect. It throws a monkey wrench into secret nuclear talks with that rogue state. By AARON BARNHART / Posted on Wed, Oct. 15, 2003

That was the episode that was supposed to air tonight. But when you go to the NBC site it doesn't mention anything about THAT episode at all. In fact, it says this:

RED HAVEN'S ON FIRE
9pm 2003-10-22

WHITE HOUSE TENSES FOR RESULTS OF MILITARY RESCUE ATTEMPT -- The President (Martin Sheen) waits tensely for the results of a military strike to rescue three captive American soldiers in Africa while Toby (Richard Schiff) tries to help Sam's (Rob Lowe) California congressional campaign and Josh (Bradley Whitford) butts heads with the First Lady (Stockard Channing). John Spencer, Allison Janney, Dule Hill, Janel Moloney, Mary-Louise Parker and Lily Tomlin also star. TV-PG

Well now that's not the same thing at all is it? So what gives? Why the sudden not airing? They promoted it and showed it as the preview last week...what am I missing in this picture?

In related news, The West Wing is FINALLY coming out on dvd in the US on November 18th. First season boxed set. Thank goodness they are FINALLY getting around to giving us the show here in the States. It's been available in the Uk for a couple years now, but not here.

So anyway, weirdness abounds tonight.

*grumbles and sighs*

So, Monday night the a/c starts pumping out warm air and smelling like it does when the heat comes on. I turn it off, we look - thinking it's icing over or something - and I call maintence. By the time they call back (it was afterhours), it's blowing cool/cold air again so we tell them to just come by the next day and confirm everything is alright.

Yesterday the guy shows up, takes the panel off, looks at it and says it's fine. I ask him why it was blowing hot air and he guesses that the thermostat got switched (malfunction) and that it should be ok now.

Tonight, about an hour ago now, we hear a THUD. The panel from the a/c came off. It also hit the pipe to the water heater on the way down. Now there's water coming out in a steady amount through the now-bent pipe. I call the afterhours number again. Leave my name and number. Wait. The guy calls back. Says he's not anywhere near the complex. Has us walk over to the other building where the maintence manager lives. He's not there. Call the first guy back. He's on his way but he suspects it'll be at least 35-45 minutes before he can get here. In the meantime, water coming out of the pipe. Also in the meantime, I turned the a/c off. The a/c is right about where the water is coming out and the panel is off. So it's electricity, fans, wires and water. Not a good combination. I'm a little opposed to setting the apartment on fire. Love's pissed at the precaution and wants to turn it back on, but I just think it's better safe (and warm) then sorry (and on fire).

So....we're back to *grumble* and *sigh* There goes the "nice quite evening" concept right out the window.

Seven Total Pairs of Horns For Sale - New Pairs Listed Today
Ok...two pairs of my horns for sale sold yesterday. One of the pairs - the red twist ones - I had enough clay to make a replacement pair. While I was at it, I also cooked up some more and added four more pairs for a total offering of SEVEN pairs for auction. They start at $7.99. All of them have a Buy It Now! if you're eager and want to be sure to get them. I'm making a post office run tomorrow afternoon, so any purchases made (and paypal payments sent) will go out then - pretty much guarenting that you'll get it for Halloween. If someone needs a rush (like Priority Mail), I'm more then happy to arrange that for you (probably just a couple bucks more in shipping charges).

Also...I've had two people request custom horns - that's not a problem either. I can happily take a commission as well. If there's a style you like, but want it in another color, just let me know. Same price as the listed ones. Takes me a day to make it.

I'm just so happy about the positive responce I've gotten to the horns. It makes me feel really good to know that people are interested in the things I craft. I work hard to make sure that they're good, quality items and it's great that people are pleased with my work. It's really satisfying to know that your artistic creations are so well received. :)

This isn't just a Halloween thing either. I will be continuing to offer them, on-going through the year. They are really good for all sorts of events from Cons, to LARPS, to Cosplay, to Clubs/Raves, to Ren Faires, to Theater, to Handfastings/Weddings, etc. etc. etc. So, at any time if someone's interested in getting a pair, just drop me an email and I'm more then happy to make some for you. missm (at) giveneyestosee (dot) com

Been busy with the horn items the last two days so not much else to report. Need to go make a commission pair now, so I'll close. Ta!

Five FOUR! Pairs of Hand-made, custom horns for sale!

For months now I've been saying I need to sell some of my horns. Well, with Halloween coming up (and plenty of fun nights on the town), I thought this would be the perfect time to get up off my butt and do it. I need to raise some cash (the DrinkDeeplyandDream.com domain needs to get caught up in webhosting fees and has the domain renewal coming up on top of it) and I figure that since people have liked them in the past, this would be a great way to offer up my hand-crafted, wearable art and get my bills paid at the same time.

They're being listed on ebay for seven days. They all went up today.

Horns look cool and are great not only for Halloween, but for Faires, Clubs, Photo shoots, etc. They're very fun to wear and get lots of looks.

So....anyway, wanted to let everyone know about the auctions. Thanks for looking and for your support. :)

edit: Holy crap! Someone already bought a pair! Weeee! I'm making a couple more pairs for listing tomorrow since I'm encouraged - including another pair similar to the red ones which sold
